An Open Letter From Operation HOPE USA's Founder, Dr. John Thomas

Monday, February 1, 2021

Due to Covid restrictions at the Civic Center, we are forced to cancel this year's Operation HOPE Banquet; but our obligation to our ministry partners in Haiti and West Texas continues. Please consider giving to our outreach as you have in the past, enabling us to continue our support to SnackPack4Kids and Hope2Haiti.

New Operation HOPE Videos

These three short films debuted last night at the Sixth Annual Operation HOPE Banquet and, as promised, they will now be available to watch 24/7 right here on operationhopeusa.org. They have been somewhat of a labor-of-love for me and I hope that they will touch your heart as you watch them.

Bringing Healing to the Middle East

In a few short days, the nation of Iraq will participate in the First Annual Joint ICS/Operation Hope & AHPBA Medical Symposium - the first medical symposium of it’s kind ever to be held in the nation of Iraq. Despite the obvious risks and dangers involved in traveling to a nation torn apart from the inside-out by wars, insurgencies, and revolutions, 10 Doctors will share their medical know-how along with the love of Christ with a group of people in desperate need of both. In addition to General Surgeons such as Dr.

A Letter from One of Our Friends

A few days ago, Barb Bouma, a friend of ours who has done alot to help the efforts of Operation HOPE sent an email to all of her friends letting them know just what they can do to help those in need in Haiti. Barb stays in touch with the Reeves family of New Vision Ministries and was able to get a very comprehensive list of the things they need to continue to operate as they have. Below is a copy of her email, and I pray that each person who reads this will be able to help out in some way.

F.A.M.I.N.E. Banquet 2011

Operation HOPE's 5th Annual F.A.M.I.N.E. Banquet was held on July 9th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center with more than 550 guests in attendance. After months of preparation by such an incredible group of volunteers, we are happy to say that this was certainly our biggest and most successful event to date. Thanks to the generous donations from businesses and individuals from across the Lubbock area, we were able to auction off a incredible collection of art, services, and products all to help the work we are currently doing in Haiti and Iraq.

Headed Back to Haiti

Operation HOPE is excited to announce that we will be returning to Haiti for a follow-up trip from our previous trips in January and March of this year.

We will be taking a team of 22 to Haiti June 20-26, 2011 consisting of medical, education and community volunteers.

The 2012 Ellis Island Award (UPDATE)

As mentioned in the article below, our founder, Dr. John Thomas was recently selected to receive the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in New York City on May 12, 2012. David Morris, a dear friend of Operation HOPE has traveled to Iraq and Haiti with Operation HOPE and went along with Dr. Thomas to film the exciting weekend. Below is the official newsreel along with a set of beautiful photos all shot by David.

We are so proud of our founder for all of his wonderful achievements and we're honored to be a part of those endeavors.
