I would like to introduce you to a little boy named of Michelet. He currently lives at the Celebration Children's Home operated by New Vision Ministries and supported by Operation HOPE. Michelet is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which fluid accumulates in the brain and oftentimes causes brain damage. When Michelet was first brought to the children's home.
Our 2021 15th Annual Banquet CanceledDear friends and supporters of Operation HOPE: Due to the cancellation of spring events at the Civic Center, we are forced to cancel this year's Operation HOPE Banquet. Thank you for your generous support over the years. Please pray about how the LORD would have you contribute to our outreach this year as we continue our commitments to Hope2Haiti and SnackPack4Kids in West Texas.
As many of you may know, our Board Chairman, Brad Bouma and his wife Barb have spent the last few days down in Haiti visiting our dear friends at New Vision Ministries. Much has been accomplished in the small town of Montrouis since we were there just a few months ago and much continues to be done as the Reeves family continue to invest their time and love into helping the wonderful Haitian people.
As mentioned in the article below, our founder, Dr. John Thomas was recently selected to receive the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in New York City on May 12, 2012. David Morris, a dear friend of Operation HOPE has traveled to Iraq and Haiti with Operation HOPE and went along with Dr. Thomas to film the exciting weekend. Below is the official newsreel along with a set of beautiful photos all shot by David.
We are so proud of our founder for all of his wonderful achievements and we're honored to be a part of those endeavors.
We would like to thank all of you who attended this event for coming out and making it such a fantastic evening! It's not every day that Lubbock has the opportunity to hear such a fantastic artist and we were honored to be a part of making it happen.
We would also like to say a special thanks to Mark Umstot for photographing this event and helping us capture such an exiting evening. Click the image below to view the Mark's photos, and make sure to visit his website.
What will you be doing for the next 30 days? If I were to ask you to write down your plans for the next month, the list would probably consist largely of the same things mine would - working, going to church, maybe a weekend out of town with the in-laws, etc. Although we will all have plenty of opportunities to impact somebody else’s life in the next 30 days, few of us will have the chance to make quite as much of a difference as our dear friend Jarred Minefee.
