Pirates, Fishermen, and Patient Seekers

The following article was posted on the blog of Dr. Kerry Reeves & New Vision Ministries in Haiti. New Vision is a close partner of Operation HOPE and they are the ministry that we assist when traveling to Haiti.

Educators Needed in Haiti

Operation HOPE recently received a request from our dear friends New Vision Ministries in Haiti to help find two teachers who would be willing to teach at a YWAM English school in Saint Marc for the 2011-2012 school year.

YWAM has been in Saint Marc for 15 years and has been such an asset to that community and the entire nation. The school is primarily focused on educating missionary children (such as the Reeves' children) as well as providing a Bible-Based English education for Haitian children to equip them to reach out to their own people.

Teach a Man to Fish

New Vision Ministries, with the help and guidance of Operation HOPE, is doing alot to improve the lives of those living in Montrouis, Haiti. One of the many initiatives taken on by Dr. Kerry is the creation and development of a fishing ministry. We've mentioned the fishing ministry in previous posts, but I would like to go into more detail about it.

An Answered Prayer

A couple of months ago, I posted an article on operationhopeusa.org asking for educators who would be willing to travel to Haiti and volunteer for the entire 2011-2012 school year. There was a YWAM school in the town of Saint Marc that was at risk of shutting down due to a lack of educators.

It's Like Going Home Again

At this point it would be hard to follow Operation HOPE and not be aware of the fact that we've put a very large focus on working with those in need in the nation of Haiti. Since 2010, we have been partnered with New Vision Ministries in Montrouis Haiti to provide medical aid, community support, and education to thousands across the nation of Haiti.
