In a few short days, the nation of Iraq will participate in the First Annual Joint ICS/Operation Hope & AHPBA Medical Symposium - the first medical symposium of it’s kind ever to be held in the nation of Iraq. Despite the obvious risks and dangers involved in traveling to a nation torn apart from the inside-out by wars, insurgencies, and revolutions, 10 Doctors will share their medical know-how along with the love of Christ with a group of people in desperate need of both. In addition to General Surgeons such as Dr.
Operation HOPE holds an annual F.A.M.I.N.E. banquet and silent auction to raise money to send food and supplies to poverty stricken countries. This year’s banquet raised money for the orphaned children living in extreme poverty in Haiti.
Texas Tech Red Raiders senior running back Baron Batch spoke to campers in July at Camp Extreme in Floydada. Batch is an active member in Operation Hope’s A.C.T.S. - Athletics for Christ Teaching and Services - a bible study for college students.
On May 23rd – 29th 14 volunteers, consisting of a team of doctors, nurses and community members, went to Haiti on a medical mission trip.
