A couple of months ago, I posted an article on operationhopeusa.org asking for educators who would be willing to travel to Haiti and volunteer for the entire 2011-2012 school year. There was a YWAM school in the town of Saint Marc that was at risk of shutting down due to a lack of educators.
Coats, hats and other supplies are being collected by Operation HOPE between now and December 12th and will be transported to Amityville New York by Operation HOPE volunteers. Amityville is located in Suffolk County New York on the Southern end of Long Island. The community was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Operation HOPE’s annual banquet was held on March 22nd at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. This year’s keynote speaker was Kirk Cameron. Kirk was introduced to most of us as Mike Seaver on Growing Pains.
In sharing his testimony, Kirk said he believes it is important for people to connect with causes for which they identify. While some are called to support missions with direct volunteer work in another country or location, this isn’t for everyone Kirk explained.
